Bak Eunsik

Park Eun-sik (1859–1925) was a historian, journalist, and independence activist during the Japanese colonial period in Korea. He wrote The Tragic History of Korea (Hanguk Tongsa), chronicling how the nation lost its sovereignty, and The Bloody History of the Korean Independence Movement (Hanguk Dongnip Undong Jihyeolsa), seeking to preserve national consciousness through the study of history. He was active in the anti-Japanese resistance—founding the Daedong religion and organizing the Sinhan Revolutionary Party—and served as the second President of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea.
