Bak Munsu

Park Mun-su (1691–1756) was a civil official of the late Joseon period, best known as the emblematic secret royal inspector of King Yeongjo's reign. Traveling through the provinces to uncover corrupt officials and relieve the hardships of the common people, he became a byword for the office of the secret inspector that endures to this day. Having served in high posts such as Minister of Taxation, he is long remembered as a symbol of the official who devoted himself to the welfare of the people.
