Choe Seung-hui

Choi Seung-hee (1911–1969) was a dancer regarded as a pioneer of modern Korean dance. Rising to become one of Korea's foremost dancers of her time, she toured and performed across many countries, bringing Korean dance to international stages. In 1946, after liberation, she followed her husband, the literary critic An Mak, to North Korea, where she continued to work as a dancer and trained many students.
