Dae Munye

Dae Mun-ye was a Balhae prince and general, a son of King Go (Dae Jo-yeong), the founder of Balhae, and the younger brother of King Mu. When he opposed a military campaign against the Heishui Mohe, he came into conflict with his brother King Mu, and ultimately defected to Tang China. He illustrates the internal disputes within the early Balhae royal house over foreign policy.
