Doseon

道詵Buddhist Monk

827~898

Doseon (827-898) was a monk of the late Silla period who became renowned as a master of feng shui (pungsu-jiri). His secular family name was Kim, and he was widely known by the honorific title Doseon-guksa; during the Unified Silla era he founded Cheongam Temple in the Gimcheon region. The feng shui thought he shaped went on to greatly influence discussions about the founding of Goryeo and the choice of its capital.
