Eulji Mundeok

Eulji Mundeok was a high official and general of Goguryeo who played a leading role in the second war between Goguryeo and the Sui dynasty. He is best known for the Battle of Salsu in 612, where he decisively defeated a Sui army of some 300,000 soldiers. This victory is remembered as a symbolic moment in which Goguryeo turned back a massive invasion by the powerful Sui empire.
