Gyebaek
階伯General?~660
Gyebaek (?–660) was a general in the final years of Baekje who led the kingdom's last stand when the allied forces of Silla and Tang invaded in 660. Commanding a determined force of 5,000, he fought five engagements at Hwangsanbeol against a Silla army of 50,000 before Baekje was defeated and he fell in battle. Counted alongside Seongchung and Heungsu as one of Baekje's loyal retainers, he is remembered as a symbol of resistance who sought to defend his country against overwhelming odds.
