Gyeongheo
鏡虛Buddhist Monk1849~1912
Gyeongheo (1849-1912) was a monk of the late Joseon period who revived the declining tradition of Seon (Zen) practice. Regarded as the reviver of modern Seon Buddhism, he opened a new current in Korea's modern Buddhist history. His work became an important foundation for the later continuation and development of Korean Seon Buddhism.
