Han Myeonghoe

Han Myeong-hoe (1415–1487) was a civil official and politician of the early Joseon period who served as the chief strategist behind Prince Suyang in the 1453 coup and became a leading merit subject at the enthronement of King Sejo. He later married two of his daughters to King Yejong and King Seongjong, wielding vast and lasting power as a royal in-law. Known by the pen name Apgujeong, he stands as a symbol of the reshaping of power in early Joseon.
