Heo Nanseolheon

Heo Nanseolheon (1563–1589) was one of the foremost female poets of mid-Joseon Korea. Born under the name Cho-hui, she produced refined and accomplished poetry in classical Chinese at a time when women's literary activity was heavily restricted. After her death her poems were collected into an anthology that was published in China and Japan, gaining readers far beyond her homeland.
