King Hyojong
孝宗King1619~1659
Hyojong (1619-1659) was the 17th king of Joseon and the second son of King Injo and Queen Inyeol. He made the doctrine of a northern expedition against Qing a centerpiece of his reign, seeking to avenge Joseon's humiliation and strengthening the military, and at Qing's request he dispatched musketeer troops in the Naseon campaigns against Russian forces. He also expanded the Daedong law to ease the tax burden on the people and to put state finances in order.
