Yi Inyeong

Yi In-yeong (李麟榮), who went by the pen name Jungnam, was a righteous-army (uibyeong) commander in the final years of the Korean Empire. During the 1907 uprising of the righteous armies, he was chosen as supreme commander of the 13-Province Allied Righteous Army, a coalition uniting volunteer forces from across the country, and led the campaign to advance on Seoul against Japanese rule. He is remembered as a pivotal figure in the late-period righteous-army movement for bringing scattered volunteer forces together and organizing armed resistance to Japan.
