Yi Je-ma (1837–1900), who went by the pen name Dongmu, was a practitioner and scholar of Korean traditional medicine active in the late Joseon and Korean Empire periods. He founded Sasang constitutional medicine, which classifies people into four inborn body types and holds that the same illness should be treated differently according to a patient's constitution. His treatise Dongui Suse Bowon, which set out this theory in full, opened a distinctive current of constitutional medicine within Korea's traditional healing tradition.
