Queen Inhyeon

Queen Inhyeon of the Yeoheung Min clan (1667-1701) was the second queen consort of King Sukjong, the 19th monarch of Joseon, and a daughter of Min Yu-jung. Amid her rivalry with Royal Noble Consort Jang (Jang Hui-bin), she was deposed from the throne in 1689 but reinstated in 1694 — known as the only Joseon queen ever restored during her own lifetime. These dramatic reversals later became the subject of the court literary work "The Tale of Queen Inhyeon," which was long handed down.
