Yi Wanyong

Yi Wan-yong (1858–1926) was a high-ranking official and politician in the final years of the Korean Empire, standing at the center of the process by which the country lost its sovereignty. He took a leading role in concluding the Eulsa Treaty, the Memorandum of 1909, the Seven-Article Treaty of 1907, and the Japan–Korea Annexation Treaty, helping to hand over the nation's diplomatic authority and sovereignty to Japan. For this he is counted among the "Five Eulsa Traitors," the "Seven Jeongmi Traitors," and the "Seven Gyeongsul Traitors," and he remains regarded as a leading pro-Japanese collaborator and national traitor.
