Princess Jeonghyo

Princess Jeonghyo was the fourth daughter of King Mun of Balhae, a member of the eighth-century Balhae royal family. The murals and epitaph stone discovered in her tomb are valuable sources on Balhae culture, testifying to how it blended Goguryeo traditions with the culture of Tang China. These relics are an important basis for understanding Balhae as a state that absorbed neighboring influences while forming a distinct culture of its own.
