Ji Cheongcheon

Ji Cheong-cheon (1888–1957) was a leading Korean independence activist and military commander during the Japanese colonial period. Leading the armed independence struggle in Manchuria, he fought Japanese forces in the battles of Ssangseongbo and Daejeonjaryeong, and later served as commander-in-chief of the Korean Liberation Army under the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea, directing an organized armed resistance. His significance lies in uniting scattered independence forces into a single rallying point for the anti-Japanese struggle.
