Kim Gu
金九Independence Activist1876~1949
Kim Ku (1876-1949), known by his pen name Baekbeom, was one of the leading figures of the Korean independence movement during Japanese colonial rule. He organized the Korean Patriotic Corps, which carried out the actions of Yi Bong-chang and Yun Bong-gil, and led the movement as chairman of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea. His autobiography, Baekbeom Ilji, remains widely read as a record of his life and his commitment to independence.
