Kim Jongseo

Kim Jong-seo (金宗瑞, 1383–1453) was a civil official and general of the early Joseon dynasty. Under King Sejong he pushed the kingdom's northern frontier to the Tumen River by establishing the Six Garrison Forts (Yukjin) against Jurchen incursions. Later, as a chief minister, he supported the young King Danjong, but he was killed in 1453 during the coup known as the Gyeyu Jeongnan.
