Kim Maria

Kim Maria was a leading woman independence activist during Korea's Japanese colonial period. While studying in Tokyo she took part in the February 8 Declaration of Independence and helped spread word of it back home, then served as president of the Korean Patriotic Women's Association, leading women's organized resistance. She later went into exile in Shanghai, where she continued the cause as an officer of the association there.
