Kim Mu-ryeok

Kim Muryeok was a son of King Guhyeong, the last ruler of Geumgwan Gaya, and served as a general of Silla after Gaya was absorbed into the kingdom. In the mid-6th century, during the reign of King Jinheung, he defeated King Seong of Baekje at the Battle of Gwansanseong, contributing greatly to Silla's territorial expansion. As the grandfather of Kim Yushin, later a central figure in the unification of the Three Kingdoms, he laid the foundation for the Gaya lineage to become one of Silla's leading military families.
