Kim Okgyun
金玉均Enlightenment Faction1851~1894
Kim Ok-gyun (1851-1894) was an official, politician, and thinker of late Joseon who led the radical faction of the enlightenment movement. Seeking Korea's independent modernization and reform, he spearheaded the Gapsin Coup of 1884, but the coup collapsed within days, ending as the so-called "Three Days' Rule." He later lived in exile before being assassinated in Shanghai.
