Kim Simin

Kim Si-min (1554–1593) was a military officer of Joseon who served during the Japanese invasions of Korea (the Imjin War). In 1592 he defended the fortress of Jinju against a large Japanese army and won a decisive victory, but he was struck by gunfire during the battle and died soon afterward. This victory at Jinju is remembered as one of the war's most important, and he was posthumously granted the honorary title Chungmu.
