Kim So-wol

Kim So-wol (born Kim Jeong-sik) was a leading lyric poet of Korea's Japanese colonial era. At a time when Western literature was flooding in, he gave voice to distinctly Korean sentiments through the natural rhythms of the Korean language. With works such as "Azaleas" (Jindallaekkot) and "Mama, Sister," he remains one of the poets most beloved by Koreans to this day.
