Kim Yunhu
金允侯Buddhist MonkGeneralKim Yun-hu was a monk-turned-general who was active during the reigns of King Gojong and King Wonjong of Goryeo. During the Mongol invasion of 1232, he led the resistance at Cheoin-seong Fortress, where the Mongol commander Sartai was killed, and he later led another victory over the Mongols at the Battle of Chungju-seong. As a monk who fought foreign invaders alongside the common people, he is remembered as a symbol of Goryeo's resistance against the Mongols.
