Nam Hyoon

Nam Hyo-on (1454–1492) was a scholar and literary figure of the early Joseon period, and one of the "Six Loyal Subjects who Survived" (Saengyuksin), who refused to hold office in protest against King Sejo's usurpation of the throne. He compiled the Yuksinjeon, a record of the integrity of the six ministers executed for attempting to restore the deposed King Danjong, thereby passing down to later generations the deeds of men whose memory had officially been erased. He is known by his pen name Chugang and traced his ancestral seat to Uiryeong.
