Na Seokju

Na Seok-ju (1892-1926) was a Korean independence activist and a member of the Uiyeoldan (Righteous Brotherhood) during the Japanese colonial period. In 1926 he hurled bombs at the Korean Industrial Bank and the Oriental Development Company, institutions of Japanese economic exploitation, but the bombs failed to explode; he then fought a gun battle with Japanese police and took his own life. His attack stands as a symbol of armed resistance against colonial exploitation.
