Frank W. Schofield

Frank William Schofield (1889–1970) was a British-born Canadian Presbyterian missionary who was also a veterinarian and bacteriologist, and who worked in Korea under Japanese colonial rule. He took a leading role in making the realities of the March 1st Independence Movement and the atrocities of the Jeamni massacre known to the wider world, and for this he is sometimes called "the 34th figure of the March 1st Movement." Adopting the Korean name Seok Ho-pil, he remained deeply attached to Korea and, even after liberation, stayed in the country as a respected missionary who spoke out on human rights and social issues.
