Seong Sammun
成三問Scholar1418~1456
Seong Sam-mun (成三問, 1418–1456) was an official and scholar of the early Joseon period who took part in the creation of Hunminjeongeum, the Korean alphabet, as a scholar in King Sejong's Hall of Worthies. When King Sejo seized the throne from his young nephew Danjong, Seong Sam-mun joined a plot to restore the deposed king; the attempt was discovered and he was executed. He is remembered as a leading figure among the Six Martyred Ministers, whose lives came to symbolize scholarly integrity and unwavering loyalty in Joseon.
