King Seonjo
宣祖King1552~1608
Seonjo (1552–1608) was the 14th king of Joseon. During his reign the Sarim scholar-officials came to hold political power, marking the beginning of factional politics. When the Japanese invasions (Imjin War) broke out in 1592, he fled the capital for Uiju, and the war left a deep mark on Joseon society.
