Sin Dolseok
申乭石Righteous Army Commander1878~1908
Sin Dol-seok (1878-1908) was a commander of the Righteous Armies who fought against Japanese aggression in the final years of the Korean Empire. At a time when most such leaders came from the noble yangban class, he led his forces as a commoner and is remembered as the first commoner-born Righteous Army commander. Operating across the rugged mountains around Mount Taebaek, he earned the nickname "Tiger of Mount Taebaek."
