1874~1926

Sunjong (1874-1926) was the second and last emperor of the Korean Empire, succeeding his father Gojong upon his accession in 1907. During his reign the Korean Empire steadily lost its sovereignty under Japanese influence, and in 1910 the Japan-Korea Annexation stripped the nation of its independence entirely.
