King Suro
金首露王KingFounding ProgenitorKing Suro was the first ruler of Geumgwan Gaya (the Garak state), which he founded in the year 42, laying the foundation for the Gaya confederacy of small polities. Centered on the Gimhae region, his kingdom is remembered for production based on abundant iron and for active maritime trade. Legend also tells that he took as his queen Heo Hwang-ok, who came from across the sea, and he is regarded as the progenitor of the Gimhae Kim clan.
