Yun I-sang

Yun Isang (1917–1995) was a Korean-born composer of contemporary music who was active in West Germany and later in reunified Germany. He earned international recognition for works that blended the traditional musical sensibility of East Asia with the techniques of Western modern music. In 1967 he was caught up in the East Berlin Incident and imprisoned in Korea, after which he continued to compose mainly in Germany.
