This shrine enshrines a portrait of Gang Gam-chan, a great general of the Goryeo period. Nakseongdae is known as the birthplace of General Gang Gam-chan, and the shrine was named 'Anguksa' after his pen name 'Anguk' (Peaceful Nation).
