In Daeheung-myeon, Yesan-gun, Chungcheongnam-do, sits one of Chungnam's most treasured villages. True to the Slow City ideal, it harmoniously blends nature, history, culture, and tradition. The scenic panoramas stretching from the summit of Bongsusan Mountain down to Yedang Lake testify to this harmony. There is much to see, feel, and enjoy. The Snail Experience School offers hands-on slow-living programs open to all — including a re-enactment as a Baekje Restoration Army soldier, forest immersion, and confirming the values of Daeheung village as a Slow City. The meandering slow paths weaving through the village are walking trails that can be enjoyed freely, independent of any program. They are divided into three routes: the 5.1 km 'Old Stories Trail' (90 min), the 4.6 km 'Slow Trail' (60 min), and the 3.3 km 'Love Trail' (50 min). Above all, the story of the 'Brotherly Love' brothers lives throughout the village — the true account of brothers Yi Seong-man and Yi Sun, who carried bundles of rice stalks to each other's storehouse through the night, is not a legend but a real story handed down in Daeheung village.
