This is the byeolseo (detached villa) of Heungseon Daewongun, built in the late Joseon period and designated as a Seoul Tangible Cultural Heritage. Nestled among the rocky slopes of Inwangsan Mountain, it was named 'Seokpajeong' by Heungseon Daewongun and is also known as the Samgye-dong Pavilion. The original estate consisted of seven residential buildings along with a hexagonal pavilion and the Yususeongjoungwanpungnu, but today only four structures remain: the inner quarters, the outer reception hall, an annex, and a pavilion. The property is celebrated for its beautiful scenery and elegant architecture, offering visitors a sense of the refined artistic culture of the Joseon aristocracy. It is currently operated by the Seoul Museum of Art (SeMA), where visitors can enjoy exhibitions of modern and contemporary art and explore Seokpajeong's outdoor garden with a museum admission ticket.
