Munsan Seowon enshrines members of the Angang Ro clan of Gyeongju, including Ro Su-ham and Ro Gyeong-pil, in its Sedeoksa shrine. It was founded in 1792 (the 16th year of King Jeongjo) and demolished in 1868 (the 5th year of King Gojong) under the order to abolish the seowon; it was later rebuilt at its present site in 1986. Passing through Sangjimun, the outer triple gate, one faces the four-bay Ihakdang hall bearing the Munsan Seowon signboard. Yeongnakjae and Siseupjae stand on either side of it, and there is a separate shrine, Sedeoksa, that enshrines the honored figures. Along one side of the courtyard stand the memorial stele and the construction-record stele of Munsan Seowon. A memorial rite is held here each year on the jungjeong day of the tenth lunar month.
