This is the ancestral home of the descendants of Yu-heon Jeong Hwang, who lived here for generations. Jeong Hwang was exiled to Geojedo Island during the Jeongmi Sahwa (political purge) after arguing that proper mourning rites should be observed for King Injong. The main residence and servants' quarters were built in 1854, and the main gate in 1927. The house displays a sober, practical style characteristic of the clan's senior branch.
