This is the birthplace of Yi Dong-nyeong (1869-1940), known as Seok-o, who devoted his whole life to the independence movement. The family moved to Bongik-dong 2-4, Jongno, Hanseongbu (Seoul) in 1885 when he was 17. The restoration and renovation of the birthplace site was completed in December 2005, and the birthplace restoration project was carried out. A well, photo zone (seated statue of Yi Dong-nyeong), and other structures were installed, and the birthplace has the main room, outer room, and other spaces with old furniture and figure models on display. The building layout is in a 'U' shape, with the main wing in an 'L' shape and a 'horizontal' gate wing forming a 'C' shape together. The 'L'-shaped main wing has a large wooden-floored room in the center with one room on each side. The center three bays have a wooden floor, with one room on each side of the main wing extended left and right with three bays each for rooms and kitchen.
