Yaksuam is a Korean Buddhist Taegojong temple on Dodangsan Mountain in Jeonju, founded in 1986 by Venerable Myeobeop. The monk had a dream in which the Maitreya Buddha appeared and told him to dispense medicine at this place; upon visiting, he found that a Maitreya seated statue that had long been present there had been removed by someone. He then built an hermitage above the spring and created a new standing Maitreya statue. In 1991, a bell tower was added. The spring water, known for its excellent quality, attracts many visitors. There are also plans to build a main hall (Daeungjeon) in the form of a wooden pagoda beside the bell tower.
