About this place

This is the Daeseongjeon main shrine hall of Yeonsan Confucian School, built during the mid-Joseon period. The school follows the traditional 'lecture hall in front, shrine behind' layout, with the Myeongnyundang at the front. Inside the Daeseongjeon are the spirit tablets of Confucius (center) and the Four Disciples, as well as 22 additional sages (including Song-dynasty scholars and Korean sages) in the east and west annexes — 27 tablets in total. The building has a three-bay by three-bay floor plan with a dual-eave gabled roof.
