The Jisanri flagpole supporters (danggan jiju) were designated as a Treasure on January 21, 1963. Located within a residential area in Jisan-dong, the surrounding neighborhood has since developed into a village, leaving no trace of the original temple site. However, because the two supporters remain in their original positions, facing each other from east to west, it can be inferred that this area was once home to a large temple complex. The outer corners of the supports have been beveled and decorated with longitudinal grooves, displaying a highly ornamental and refined design technique. The tops of the supporters are pointed, and the outer sides are curved with three stepped undulations in an arc shape. On the inner faces of the supporters are two mortise holes of rectangular shape, designed to hold the pole (gan) that would have been inserted to hang the banner. Although the Jisan-dong flagpole supporters give a slightly heavy impression due to their nearly uniform upper and lower widths, they can be considered fine works of craftsmanship, given the decorative techniques applied to the outer edges of each side. Overall, they display elaborate and refined carving skills. Based on the carving technique and the dressed stonework, they are estimated to have been constructed during the mid-Unified Silla period.
