Mangmodang is a pavilion built by the Joseon-era scholar Song Yeong-gu (pen name Pyoong) in the 38th year of King Seonjo (1605) after the death of his father, as a place to face toward and venerate his father's grave on Mt. Usan. The name plaque 'Mangmodang' is carved from the original brushwork of the Chinese envoy Ju Ji-beon. The three-bay-wide, three-bay-deep hipped-roof structure features pavilion-style stone foundations.
