비안향교

About this place

비안local Confucian school는 Joseon King Taejo 7년(1398) 처음 지었으며, Imjin War (Japanese Invasions of Korea, 1592–1598) 때 불타 없어졌다. King Gwanghaegun 2년(1610) 지금 있는 자리에 restoration하여 1898년, 1924년, 1935년에 각각 수리하였다. Imjin War (Japanese Invasions of Korea, 1592–1598) 때는 이 지역 사람인 손복이 local Confucian school의 spirit tablet를 산중 굴속에 숨겨 무사히 피해를 면했다고 전한다. 지금 남아 있는 건물로는 ancestral rites 공간인 Daeseungjeon (Confucian shrine hall)과 동무·서무, 교육 기royal tomb을 수행하는 lecture hall인 Myeongnyundang (lecture hall), 삼문 등이다. Daeseungjeon (Confucian shrine hall)에는 공자를 비롯한 그 제자와 우리나라 성현들의 spirit tablet를 모시고 있다. 동쪽 높은 대지에 Daeseungjeon (Confucian shrine hall)을 두고 그 아래 Myeongnyundang (lecture hall)을 세워 전학후묘의 배치를 하고 있다. Daeseungjeon (Confucian shrine hall) 앞에는 동무와 서무가 서로 마주 보고 있다. 이 밖에도 광풍루, 교직사, 화장실, 연못 등이 갖추어져 있다.
