영지사는 대한Buddhism조계종 제10교구 본사 은해사 소속 Buddhist temple이다. Silla시대 무열king 때 의상대사가 founding/construction하여 웅정암이라 하였으나 Imjin War (Japanese Invasions of Korea, 1592–1598) 때 destruction by fire한 후 1603년 지조와 원찬이 reconstruction하고 이름을 영지사로 바꾸었다. 그 후 1774년(King Yeongjo 50) restoration하여 오늘에 이르고 있으며, 유적 유물로는 main hall (Daeungjeon)과 명부전, 범종각, 요사채 2동 등이 있다.
