Toisu Seowon is a Joseon-period academy in Imcheon-myeon, Buyeo-gun, enshrining three members of the Pungyang Jo clan: Jo Bak (pen name Seokgok), Jo Gyeon-so (pen name Seonggang), and Jo Seong-bok (pen name Toisujae). Jo Bak passed the civil examination in the 39th year of King Seonjo and rose through official ranks. Jo Gyeon-so, a late Joseon civil official, resigned from his post as magistrate of Geumgu to devote himself to scholarship and teaching. Jo Seong-bok reached the position of Chief Royal Censor but was exiled by political opponents and died in exile. The academy was first built in the 33rd year of King Yeongjo in Sedo-myeon, Dongsa-ri, initially enshrining only Jo Seong-bok's tablet. In 1957, when it was relocated to its current site, Jo Bak and Jo Gyeon-so were added. Nearby are Banwon Seowon, Gangok Seowon, and Imcheon Confucian School.
