The Hongsan Guesthouse (gaeksa) is a Joseon-era official guesthouse where the royal tablet was enshrined and visiting officials or envoys were accommodated. Records indicate it was built in 1836 (the 2nd year of King Heonjong) by Magistrate Kim Yong-geun. It was later used as a township office and underwent major restoration in 1983.
