This seowon venerates Yi Hang (Ilje) and Kim Cheonil (Geonje) as primary figures, along with Kim Jeom, Kim Bokek, Kim Seungjeok, and So Sanbuk. Yi Hang (1499-1576) was a mid-Joseon official and Confucian scholar. Kim Cheonil (1537-1593) raised volunteer troops to fight Japanese forces during the Imjin War. The seowon was established in 1577 (Seonjo 10th year) and received the royal designation 'Namgo' in 1685 (Sukjong 11th year). After being closed under Heungseon Daewongun's order, it was rebuilt in 1899, at which time Kim Jeom, Kim Bokek, and Kim Seungjeok were added. So Sanbuk's tablet was added in 1913. The compound includes a shrine, lecture hall Gangsujae, inner three-gate, and outer three-gate. The shrine is three-bay-wide with a gabled roof, with Yi Hang's tablet at center and others on the sides. Rites are held in February and August each year.
