This is a Maitreya Buddha (Mireukbul) carved on a wide flat granite rock on a secluded hillside in Singhyeon-ri, Yeongin-myeon, Asan. The Buddha wears a large round crown on its head, resembling a traditional hat. Its eyes and eyebrows are carved elongated toward the ears, with a relatively small mouth giving a solemn expression. Three rings are clearly carved on the neck.
